I got a couple of screw mount to K converters from Shel a couple of days
ago. One a genuine Pentax and the other a new Promaster.

The Pentax model works fine but the Promaster would only mount on my DS
without a lens attached and even then it was a bit fiddley. On careful
inspection I found the clearance to the bayonet lugs was less on the
Promaster. Some work with a bit of emery cloth on the lugs and it's
working OK but still a bit snug.

Also with the Promaster the mounted lens's markings are about 20 degrees
short of vertical when fully snugged. Infinity focus is fine so no real
problem. Actually makes it a bit easier to see the f-stop setting around
the flash housing projection. :)

I don't think Shel ever used the problem converter so no fault to him and
it was still a good deal.
