The red eye is caused by the angle off the lens axis of the flash. At 1 meter the shoe mount flash is maybe 15 degrees off the axis, at 8 meters it is only one ot two degrees off axis. Very much the same as using the RTF at closer distances. In fact at longe distances you can even get red eye with a bracket mounted flash. --Tom - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
