You've decided to get out of Pentax. Now you're trying to justify your decision on the basis of current share prices. If every company that saw its share price go down at some point went out of business, there'd be no companies left.
You don't even have the intellectual rigour to distinguish between a country and a region, and you claim that "the Japanese domestic market doesn't account for a lot of any of the manufacture's total sales". Next you say that Pentax makes 30-40% of its sales in Japan.
Such inconsistencies deprive your argument of credibility.

Pentax is one of the Big 5 camera vendors from Japan, for the moment. being at the top of the top 5 sales list or not on it at all is worthy of comment. being on it alone only means that they aren't irrelevant yet. the continued drop in stock price means those that have the money don't believe the company is on the right track and are selling.

I have seen posts that Pentax is selling the istD and istDs as fast as they can make them.
If their manufacturing is at capacity, and they are selling everything that comes off the end of the assembly line, then they are doing OK.
