Hmmm. If you're like most of us (not all, mind you, but most), use of the lens on your 35mm film bodies won't be an issue.

Hi everyone

I'm considering taking the digital plunge probably an *istDs the dilemma concerns the choice of lens.

Namely between the:
         Pentax DA 16-45 f/4
          vs
          Tamron SP AF17-35MM F/2.8-4 Di

Based on the comments read here It seems that the 16-45 is a great lens and have read some very very favourable reviews of the 17-35.

The advantage of the Tamron is that it will also give me an ulta wide for my 35mm film bodies and that's cause of my dilemma. While reviews of the Tamron abound I have found very little info on it when used with a film body.

Any comments/advice are welcome.

Regards

Patrick

Paul,

I see your point but the 17-35 will be the only lens i've got that will enable me to go wider than 24mm which means that at least for ultra wide shots film will be my only option.

OTOH if the Pentax is a lot better than the Tamron i'll go for the Pentax.
