Definitely. I don't know anyone who uses GoLive, but I know an awful lot of
people who use DW. I've been using it professionally since version 1.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I really dislike ImageReady,
although it's better than it used to be. I've used them both for graphics
production and slicing, but I find Fireworks to be a lot more intuitive to
use than ImageReady. Since DW and Fireworks are already part of the same
suite and DW has greater market share, it would be great to see Fireworks
survive and ImageReady either die or be completely integrated into PS.

I know there are a lot of Freehand developers out there who are pretty
worried right now as well. Some are speculating that Freehand will be sold
to another company (and perhaps Fireworks will be as well).

But why would they do that? They'd just be limiting their own market share.

Hard to say. I know MM and Adobe are competitors, but I've always thought of
them as being really good at different things, so in a way, this merger
makes perfect sense. But I'm still not happy about it...
