Hi all,

My wife is currently looking to spend her work's money on a new digital
camera. She wants to buy Pentax, but one of the requirements is a 28mm
equivalent lens and no Pentax go that wide. It's a shame as most
people who ask me about cameras want to be able to take scenery and
groups of people inside - both are easier to do with a lens that goes
to 28mm.

It's currently looking like she will buy a Canon S70 unless someone can
suggest a better alternative.

Before I got my Optio, I was going to go for one of Ricoh's Caplio range. Big screen, zoom down to 28mm equiv. Really low shutter lag.

But I finally did chose the Optio, because of the size. For performance, I'm happy to carry around a (D)SLR.
