I don't think the woman astronaut is an example of the same kind of thing.
She did go into outer space. Since she then had an opportunity that no
accomplished Canadian photographer had, her photography and book were
legitimate.
It's getting a job based on your fame, not your talent.
Ms. Bondar is, IIRC, a medical doctor who had the good fortune to have her
name picked out of a hat.
This is not good credentials for a photographer.
