There are two U.S. National Parks in relatively close proximity to
Grandfather Mountain. Shenandoah N.P. is north of it and Smoky Mountain
N.P. is south. Both N.P.s have campgrounds but only Shenandoah has showers.

Is anyone interested in spending a couple extra days camping? I propose
that we pick a campground in Shenandoah N.P. because of the showers.
It's an easy days drive from Shenandoah to GFM down the Blue Ridge Parkway.
We could go to Shenandoah before or after the NPW.
