1. Make certain that the shutter curtain opens when it fires.
2. Check slow shutter speeds for some level of accuracy.
3. Verify that any electronics work.
4. If there's a lens, make certain that the blades snap freely.
5. Put a flash on it to be certain that the flash sync works.
6. Check any other mechanics and swithces.
6.1 MX self timers get dirty.
6.2 MX shutter locks wear down and allow the meter to come on when slightly
depressed.
6.3 LX "sticky mirror" issue requires a CLA to resolve.
And most importantly that ...
7. it takes Pentax lenses.
8. the price is right.
9. it doesn't run Windows.
