Well done, Bruce. It is nice to find ripples like those that haven't been walked over.
Judging from the terrain in the photo, the plants (4-Wing Saltbush, I think) are tapping some water retained by that dune to the left. Not much water, just enough. The Hopi Indians plant corn in just such places.
