I answered the question in the context of a few decades and it was based
on my my experience in general. Solder joints go bad. Silicon chips lose
their functionality after thousands of heating and cooling cycles.
Transistors fail. It's very much an unknown. Remember that the original
question was posed within the context of some extreme conditions.
Many electronic devices from the 1970s still work today. Many others don't.
I certainly don't have any data to report the failure rate of MZ-S
cameras after 30 years. I hope mine are still working and I can still
get slide film for them. Hell, I hope I'm still able to shoot.
