Would it have been better just aiming a bit lower, so you catch more of
Jims chin and loose the top of Darius' head? Or even just crop this
picture, because if you only show part of Darius' head, it will harmonize
better with the partly shown head of Jim.

Framing is a damned difficulty for me: I can give comments on the results
as much as you like, but while taking the photograph, often I just don't
see what it will look like and composition is terrible.

I've been using a rangefinder camera next to my Pentax SLR's since
recently, and it's said that rangefinders are interesting for framing
because you can actually see *more* in the viewfinder than will be on the
picture. Until now, I must say, I'm quite pleased with the framing on
rangefinder pictures, although I suspect myself being less critical on that
camera...

You caught a very nice look on the child's face. Jim's chin is a bit  
tight on the bottom edge of the framing, unfortunately, but it's a  
darn nice photo nonetheless.
