Some years ago, a deranged fellow opened fire inside a restaurant in
Texas. This incident was cited often in the campaign to pass a "concealed
carry" law here (the theory being, several people in the restaurant had
weapons outside in their vehicles; if they had had them on their persons,
someone could have stopped him.) So now, Texans can obtain licences to
carry concealed weapons.
Similar incident, different result ...
Hmmm, given the choice between the two, I opt for the one that doesn't
involve civilians executing each other, even though the alternative is
equally daft in it's own way.
