G'day Herb, True. I read Shel's message as asking if you can arbitrarily set aperture size between stops. I probably misunderstood what he was asking.
I have my *ist D with 77 Ltd mounted in front of me. The lens has the following f stops marked: 1.8, 2.8, 4, 5.6, 8, 11, 16 & 22. With unmarked stops of f2.0, 3.5, 4.5, 6.7, 9.5. Using the aperture wheel I have the following f stop range (those in brackets are f stops I can not access with the aperture ring): f1.8, 2.0, (2.4), 2.8, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.6, 6.7, 8.0, 9.5, 11, (13), 16, (19) & 22 However, I can not set an f stop between 2.8 & 3.5. Can you? :-) Apologies for any confusion caused.
