Adam,

Could you tell me exactly what you mean by 
colour management?  (I am just learning).  

It seems like there is about any plugin you could imagine, I
believe there is some sort of management available. 

It certainly has a channel mixer and curves you can
manipulate.  From just the discussion of PS El I read last
week (?) on this list, these are features not found on that
version of the PS program. 

I think their version of a 16 bit program is called
Cinepaint.
Does the PS CS program support 16 bit?  

I am just trying to get some conversation going on the Gimp
as I could use some pointers.  I think I have learned enough
on my own to do the common adjustments.  In any case, I am
having fun with it which satisifies one of my goals.
