Been there, done that. It's an archaic spelling, not a modern variant, and I know of no English-speaking country where it is more common.

Mr Shell -- to borrow your phrase, "been there, done that." We've already had a thread fighting over this very issue, quite recently. Some of us tried to convince others that it was neither a legitimate variant nor correct in any form of English. You'll note we were unsuccessful.
