Actually they PENTAX did produce some damn pretty good ones right from the start but they made better and worse as time went on of course. Some of he mid 80's K/M zooms are damn nice even by the third parties like tokina and tamron...I will say it again, you seem to think the world was invented yesterday. "Old" is not always bad...."New" is not always good. Those generalizations are oversimplifications. jco
