Yep, pages 88,89 & 92 of "Asahi Pentax and Pentax SLR 35mm cameras 1952 -
1989" by Danilo Cecchi
There are two versions. The original Asshiflex (M37) which also appeared
with an M42 mount and a later M42 version. The earlier one had a rectangular
black tripod mount, the later one a smaller, round silver one.

I've got the early one in m42, but like the later 500 f4.5, the mount is on
a tube that disconnects to allow filters to be screwed on..
Two elements only. Big (>500mm long). Heavy.

I haven't used it much so can't comment on performance, and I don't have any
other 500's to compare with.
FWIW I paid AUS$300 at auction for it in around 8 condition (no dings and
only minor scratching, glass ok) with caps but no case.
