Perhaps there was something wrong with your K version, or the formula is indeed different.

I am very curious as to whether this is the case. According to Boj and Dario, they are both 5-4 designs with the same minimum focus distance, but the K aperture goes down to 32 and the filter is 52; the S-M-C is 22 and 49 respectively. These don't necessarily suggest a different formula, do they?
