IF you mean a Pantax DSLR featuring a full frame 12.8 MP CMOS sensor,
built-in colour filters, 9(15) point AF, 35 zone metering matrix, 4 metering
modes, 2? inch TFT-screen, 6 shooting modes, 3 FPS, 57 custom settings, 17
RAW-image buffer etc. - don't wait up. It will not happen.

If you want a camera like this (Canon EOS 5D) it will soon be available for
app. 3200 USD (body only). Just go and get it. Not too much money for
someone who makes a living from photographing.

The EOS 5D is not, unlike Pentax DSLR's, aimed at the consumer market. I
don't know too many people who are willing to pay what looks like a months
wages for a camera body and a couple of lenses - for making shots for the
family album or for the local camera club. This was made for pro's, no doubt
about that.

Jens

So does anyone reckon seriously that Pentax's next DSLR will be spec'd
anywhere
near as well as the non-pro Canon 5D?

All the arguments for hanging about waiting for Pentax are wearing very thin
these days.
