the assumption among many professional photographers is that you have the skill or you wouldn't be there.
That is not a safe assumption for them to make. I've run into a lot of pro photographers who are only able to do what they do because the automation in the camera has enough skill to cover for them. I suspect that the % of truly skilled pro photographers is now hovering at an all time low.
