Adams, The Print. Anything by Fred Picker regarding printing. There is a guy that does a fine print article in most every Photo Techniques magazine. His name eludes me off hand, but if he has anything out, it would likely be worth reading. Like most things in photography, you will learn more by doing than reading. Go out and buy a bottle of Selenium toner and see what it does for you. A caution about the stuff. Don't let spills dry on the counter. The powder residue from it is quite toxic to breath in. I don't know if it causes contact problems with skin when in solution. I use rupper tipped tongs to keep the print being toned under the surface, but I do pull the prints with bare fingers.
