I think it's time to put this a bit into perspective. As I have described it the dish sounds disgusting, that was my intentions. I'm pretty harmless, but I like to provoke a bit now and then.
The truth is, that rakefish smells strange, but it is pretty harmless, just like me ;-) (as stated in my signature) Before making rakefish, the fish is put in the freezer for about a week. The cold destroys (read kill) all bacteria or bugs/maggots in the fish. After the freezer the main thing in the process is that everything has _very_ high hygiene standards. The result is smelly, yes, but it is no problem for a sensitive stomach. Take my word for it. It is as harmful as a smelly cheese. On the other hand, cheese making can go bad too...
