LX (because it is sturdier then the MX, one extra stop in the shutter,
real MLU)

Selecting two lenses is really hard. I cannot go without a 50mm, and
then I can only choose between a wide or a tele...

M50mm 1.4
K85 1.8

or maybe

M50mm 1.4
FA35mm 2

or possibly (but this would mean tears, even though it looks like the
better option)

FA35mm 2
K85mm 1.8

If I'm allowed to cheat, how about

M50mm 1.4
FA28-70 4

(although I'm not too keen about zooms lately, so this would mean I'd
be using the 50mm for 80% of the shots)

A trip down the trans-Siberian railroad, from Vladivostok to Moscow.
Make that, say, 2.5 months. 1 month in Moscow, then 2.5 months
Moscow-Paris by train through a few ex eastern-block countries, maybe
at the end a few weeks in Paris. The book would try to make a blend
from one end of Eurasia to the other. It would be interesting to see
the contrast between the extremes vs the similarities of people and
culture from picture to picture.

j (will take that transsiberian sometime in the next few years and
I'll take more than 2 lenses with me)
