The current issue of Sierra magazine, the magazine of the Sierra Club, has,
what is to me at least, a fascinating article on trees and how to
photograph them, more specifically big and historic trees.

James Balog, the photographer, describes how he made the photos, all of
which involved many images that were stitched together - kind of like an
arboreal panorama.

His web site is mentioned in the article, but it's a small note in small
type and easily overlooked. So, here it is: www.jamesbalog.com I've not
yet visited the site, but will surely do so soon.
