I met Bill for the first time at the most recent camera clinic. It was obvious then that he wasn't doing too well, but his spirits were up. I think I said something like "Good to meet you, sir", and he immediately responded with "Cut out that 'sir' shit and just call me Bill." Bill certainly has a gift for making others feel welcome. I do hope he's better as soon as possible.
