Um, no, Shel-  I do mean available light as opposed to
flash.

Forgot who wrote it, but I picked up the term from a book
called
"Shooting with Avaiable light"

It was used pretty much to mean "no flash" or studio lights.
Doesn't rule out candles, light bulbs, etc.
