No "technique" per se, Derby, but I have to say, I'm quite proud of
this one.  I didn't want them to know that I was photographing them,
as I wanted a true candid.  I was sitting across the aisle from them. 
As I didn't want to raise the camera to my eye, I estimated the
exposure, figured that I was about 5 feet from them and set the focus
scale accordingly, pointed the camera (still on my knee) in their
general direction, and fired one.

That was it.  A one shot deal that I think turned out pretty well.
