Pal, I haven't used your scanner, but mine has similar stuff. I just tell mine to scan real stupid, at either ~50MB (8 bit) or ~100MB (16 bit)
and then go to Photoshop.  Photoshop shows the image having a lot of
DPI but at the real 35mm neg "picture size" of about 1 x 1.5 inches.
I don't think it makes any sense to have scanner software set final print size and resolution when you don't even know how you want to crop
yet for your first print.  Keep the scanner "stupid" in this regard.
