This was the first time it's happened to me. It was unusual. I regularly leave the memory card in-camera when downloading. If I do take it out, I have the camera sitting right there and put it back in when finished. In this one instance, I didn't feel like carrying the camera bag into work with me yesterday AM. I took the CF out of the camera, leaving the camera in the car. When I left work I put the CF in my laptop case.

The first thing I did on my D, even before putting a
memory card in it, was to go through all the option
settings and change them to what *I* wanted.

That's pretty much what I did with the last couple of
film cameras, too - the ones with "Pentax Functions".
