GFM is about 2 to 2.5 hours (depending upon weather, traffic, and how familiar you are with driving in the mountains) from Charlotte Airport if you come the short way (up 321 or 181).

Note: As of now US-321 is closed on Tuedays and Thursdays from noon to 2 pm between Lenoir and Blowing Rock (They are in the process of turning the 8 mile stretch of 2 lane twisty into a devided 4 lane up the mountain). Bill Owens swears by using 181 however and that route avoids the rediculous 1+ hour detour. Otherwise you might as well come up I-77 and take 421 over to Boone and 105 to GFM (2.5 to 3.0 hours).

What time do things get going on Friday?

Registration officially begins at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. I expect we
could accommodate earlier arrival (I and several other members of the
team will arriving Thursday) if you let us know.

What time do things wind up on Sunday?

We usually wrap up around 1-2 p.m. on Sunday. I can't be sure because
most of us on the team are working for a while after the official
program has ended :)

How long is the drive from the Charlotte airport to GFM?

Probably about 3 hrs. It's about 2 hrs from Winston-Salem, IIRC.

Clever manipulation in Photoshop.
