Whichever, your point makes perfect sense...

If the quality of the analog and digital electronics behind this
sensor is up to it, I guess these factors will be improved
accordingly.

I wonder whether increasing the total dimension of the sensors has by
itself any impact on the power consumption, then on the heat and
electronic noise.
