An engineers workshop should be able to make it for you. I used to get items
made by these sorta guys when i was modifying cars.
I'd be interested in having a look at your plans, as i was thinking about
making a tripod mount for my FA*200/2.8 for when i use it with a 2x
Teleconvertor.
My idea so far was circular loop of alloy to go around the lense, which had
been cut in half (not the lense:) with a flange at each end to tighten it on
the lense. At the bottom of the tripod mount there would be a captive nut to
screw onto the tripod. I would line the tripod mount with some foam similar
to the stuff thats used in cameras, but thicker, or maybe rubber.
