For older lenses, yes.  For newer auto-focus lenses, it's
recommended that one use the new cleaning cloths.

NO!  Denatured alcohol will leave no residue, but isopropyl will.
And, many plastics are harmed by alcohol.  Keep it away, just
to be safe.
