Pretty useful long normal to portrait length.
Good macro feature at 80mm.
Good Bokeh and color.
Rather weak in the sharpness and contrast areas.
This is on the ist-D, haven't tried it on film.
Pretty much agree with Bobs comment on Stans site:

"Bob S. - The reputation on the lens from day one has
been weak. . . . I have a copy and it is OK, but not
as sharp as the A series zooms."

The A 35-70/4 puts it to shame.
