Not only is Paul correct, but the building is well enough integrated into
the photo that it was almost invisible to me,

When I came to San Francisco, Coit Tower was the highest point in the
skyline.  As the city grew, especially as it grew upward, Coit Tower was
reduced in prominence and is seemingly a forgotten vestige of times past. 
It's a shame that more people aren't familiar with it, and the wonderful
murals and artwork it contains.
