I like the static webpages. They are simple, they have no adds 
and no animated crap. It's just simple gallery of photos that I 
can look at with a minimum of fuss.

I don't view as sacrosanct either.

But when I read through the list and count the number of people 
agitating for change all I see is you.

As some-one else said, if you really, really want something else, 
then create it.
