If you are going to give away the control in any case, I'd say it's 
better to give away the full power of control. Which you are not doing 
with JPEGs.

Yes, but at least you give them the "film". Giving them a JPEG directly 
from the camera is probably more like giving them a print where the 
colours have not been properly adjusted (and ask them to "correct" it.)
