Paul, I'm getting about 1000 exposures on a pair of CRV3s, with very little flash use and very little chimping. Since AAs have less capacity than CRV3s, and since most people chimp more than I do, 2100 exposure for 3 pairs of AAs seems about right.
$1 apiece is a great price. Let me know if it's still that low--I'll switch to lithiums for everything!
