400 Euro's for the 18-35 FA-J is extremely pricey, it's $140USD lens at B&H.

If you want a good alternative, try the Tamron 19-35, I've had 
surprisingly good luck with mine on film and digital (I own it in Nikon 
mount). Similar price to the FA-J, but it has a aperture ring.
