        My only concern with "noise-reduction" in the camera is that it 
isn't faithfully what the sensor saw.  Similar to the reasons for shooting 
RAW... get the processing out of the camera and onto a computer where a 
better job can (potentially) be done.  IIRC the D70 did "noise-reduction" 
even in their RAW files and it had a tendency to erase stars on night 
photos.
