Either. In fact you can customize whether the AE-Lock button sets to the 
program line, or just sets Aperture or Shutter based on your current 
setting of the other variable. Or you can enter shutter with the control 
wheel, aperture with EXpComp+Control wheel and adjust until the readout 
reads 0.
