From the second tee, I hit it into the woods. I was pissed, and I didn't like holding up more accomplished golfer while I "stickhandled" my way up the fairway. It was a beautiful sunny early summer day. Our golf bags were full of beer (as well as clubs). I went into the woods, retrieved my ball, put it in my pocket, and said, "Boys, I'm along for the walk!"
