If you want to check to see whether a particular
Quantaray lens was made by Sigma, you can do the
following:
1) Find a picture of the lens at
http://www.ritzcamera.com
2) Find a picture of a lens with the same
focal length at http://www.sigmaphoto.com
For many lenses, it is obvious that the external
body design is identical. I am not aware of any
manufacturers who copy the external body designs
of Sigma lenses.
