Hi Bruce
The skin mostly on the faces looks a bit like the "plastic" effect you get
when you use a denoiser program like Neat Image
for me here.

Does the Pentax do some in-camera denoising at higher ISO by default?

Maybe I just have to clean my glasses :-)

Hello Markus,

I'm glad that you liked it.  The shot was taken at 800 ISO and
standard RAW processing was done on it that I do to all my images.
There was no additional de-noising that was done.  I wonder if you can
explain more of what you are seeing.  Perhaps it is the noise one
would get at 800 ISO?
