"Decay" by Lucas Rijnders

I like this one. The composition is fine, and it fits the theme like a
glove. one little nit is that it has a bit of magenta cast on my
(calibrated) monitor. Also, my eyes don't fall to rest at the end of
the boat, since it is out of focus and tonally in line with the tree
on the other side of the water. In my opinion, the composition would
have been even stronger if the end of the boat had been contrasted
against the brighter sky.

"Abandoned Chairs" by Jaume Lahuerta

This is sort of a classic motif for this theme in my mind. Probably
because a former friend did a whole exhibition series over motifs from
the same kind setting, house due for demolition.

The chairs do look a bit lonesome, but the message doesn't come across
as very strong to me.

"River's End" by Harald Rust

Harald, you certainly live up to your PUG reputation with this image.
I think it's a great pic, even if it doesn't strike me as particularly
abandoned. :-)

"Southport Fair" by Jonathan Gordon

Nothing beats a symbolic sunset in the context of this theme, but I
think the sky is allowed to dominate this scene too much to get the
message across. For the sake of the theme, I would suggest a crop from
the top, almost down to the highest patch of blue sky on the right.
But it's a shame to do away with such a nicely rendered sky though.

"The hour of blue(s)" by Janne Käld

The cold, blue colour gives the impression that the bathing guests
have left for warmer places. Considering the exposure time and the
time of day it is taken, it must be summer and probably not all that
cold in the water, but the effect is nice.

"KRAPA" by Jens Bladt

Abandoned for the sake of the crew's lives? This one too is a classic
motif for the theme. I like it a lot. Especially the composition.
