SORRY BUT I DO NOT AGREE. LF Lenses, even the very best and very expensive modern APO ones are not as sharp as the best MF lenses and the same goes true for the best MF lenses not being as sharp as the very best 35mm lenses.
And there is "generally" with lenses. This is one of them. While the above statement is talking about the very best, the overall average sharpness hold true in the same way, thus "generally" was used in my post. jco -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Mishka Sent: Monday, December 11, 2006 10:10 PM To: Pentax-Discuss Mail List Subject: Re: Pentax 645D Sensor size(?) there's no such thing as "lenses in general". the best MF lenses are every bit as good as the best 35mm lenses (although more expensive). it's all a question of "bang for a buck" -- where the larger formats will probably loose. btw, P645 A300/4 ED IF *is* better than any pentax A-lens (non-macro) of a comparable FL. i know since i compared myself Zeiss 180/4 sonnar is every bit as good as *any* 35mm lens in 100mm range. I don't even mention superachromats. The test site quoted doesn't have many modern MF lens tested. But even an old Rolleiflex there has numbers that would make many 35mm lenses envious. best, mishka On 12/11/06, Adam Maas <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > By and large, jco is correct.
