But experience suggests that it is operator error rather than camera error. Do you recall Roman a few months ago saying that his *ist DS was exposing wrongly? He had it set to spot metering and was tracking a boy jumping off a tree against a background that went from dark to light. There was nothing wrong with the camera at all. He just didn't know what he was doing, but preferred to place the blame elsewhere. This tendency is now occurring with aspects of the K10D. We'll find out in due course if the design really does have some faults, or whether, as I suspect, the vast majority of reported problems (and there have in fact not been very many) are down to the user. Meanwhile, I get fed up reading reports by people claiming the camera is at fault when they haven't taken the time to diagnose the problem properly. James states: "It is a FACT that my SR is intermittant in its operation." I don't dispute that, but I do wonder whether he is operating it correctly. As mine hasn't arrived yet (the UK is last to get them, it seems) I can't offer any suggestions as to what he might be doing wrong.
