What batteries are you using on the Pentax "540 something"? The reason I
ask that NiMH of at least 2100 mAh work so much better than alkaline
batteries in my Metz flash, but I'm thinking about a P-TTL unit.

I had my Sigma EF 500 DG Super upgraded for the K100, because I
figured that would make it compatible with the K10D. When my K10D
arrived, I mounted the Sigma and fired away. It died. Completely. No
flash. I'm going to send it to them, but I'm not hopeful. I needed a
flash, so I bought the Pentax equivelant, the 540 something. It works
well, but goes through batteries in a hurry. I thought I read that
Pentax was going to release a remote battery hookup for this flash.
Hope so. In the meantime, I also use my AF400T with my remote Battery
II. On autoflash it works just fine.
