I've used the SMCP 200/2.5 and the Pentax AF 1.7x
Adapter. It's a good combination. There is little or no
light fall-off in the corners, even wide open, and the
sharpness of the lens alone is retained.

As usual with longer lenses, you have to pre-focus
manually, then let the Adapter take over within its
limited AF range. Its a little slower than just using a
300mm or 400mm AF lens, but not too bad.

I like the heft of the 200/2.5 and AF Adapter mounted
on a PZ1p. It's a solid bundle.

Here's a photo shot with that combo. It was actually
taken through glass at the Memphis, Tennessee Zoo.
